It’s an appropriate name for the summer show at the Mispillion Art League’s Gallery. This show is exciting both in terms of content and artists. See for yourself during the “Meet the Artists” reception starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 15.
Summer Sizzle runs through August 6.
Here’s what makes “Sizzle” so hot:
- Diversity on many levels: generational, cultural heritage, media, artistic experience. For example, the 24 artists range in age from late teens through late 70s. Look for watercolors, acrylics, oils, and photography.
- The exhibit showcases the talent of new members including Nicole Rogers, Osiel Villabos, Diane Fung, Pat Fecko, and Irene Averitte. Welcome!
- You will see some familiar names too: Tony Burton, John Mollura, and Richard Hall.
- Take time to study and enjoy the miniatures exhibit.
Erica Rae, our gallery manager noted that the new members not only added depth to the league’s talent pool, but also they were generous and jumped right onto the organization’s fund/raising ventures. “They contributed to the 6×6 Project and helped us raise a lot of money,” she said.
Now for the sweetest news: The July 15 reception is an ice cream social! Ice cream cones, sundaes, and floats will be offered to all who attend.
Sizzling and sweet – what a treat! See you there!
